Kill 2 birds with 1 stone – Complete the Skill Section of your Duke of Edinburgh Award whilst at the same time prepare for life looking after yourself; whether that’s at Uni or leaving home & living on your own. It’s a skill which will be invaluable throughout your life & will give you the confidence to pick up any recipe book and have a go!
- The BRONZE award requires you to complete 3 months (12 weeks) of skill building.
This is made up of 5x2hr hands-on Tutorials held at The Old Bakehouse Cookery kitchen together with 7 Home Study Modules which you will document your results photographically. At the end of the 12 weeks, you will be assessed & if you have attained the required standard, your Skill Section will be signed off. - The SILVER award requires you to complete 6 months (24 weeks) of skill building.
This is made up of 7x2hr hands-on Tutorials held at The Old Bakehouse Cookery kitchen together with 17 Home Study Modules which you will document your results photographically. At the end of the 24 weeks, you will be assessed & if you have attained the required standard, your Skill Section will be signed off. - The GOLD award requires you to complete 12 months (48 weeks) of skill building.
This is made up of 13x2hr hands-on Tutorials held at The Old Bakehouse Cookery kitchen together with 35 Home Study Modules which you will document your results photographically. At the end of the 48 weeks, you will be assessed & if you have attained the required standard, your Skill Section will be signed off.
Each student will be entirely responsible for attending ALL the Tutorials & completing ALL the Home Study Modules. Failure to do so may compromise your final assessment with the financial implication thereof.
Also included in the fee is a Booklet of all the recipes covered in your course, Hints & Tips for independent living, a tote bag & access to continual support from me to guide you through to the completion of the course.

Confirmation of a place will be given upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of £25pp. Payments can be made either in full or monthly (3x£65pp).
